Thursday's forecast: More rain on the way

Yet another wet day is forecast in the Southeast and much of the Plains on Thursday while the Northeast and Great Lakes dries out.
Southeast: Showers and thunderstorms are likely from the southern Mid-Atlantic to Florida and along the Gulf Coast. Temperatures will be in the muggy 80s and 90s.
Northeast, Upper Midwest: Mostly clear and comfortably cool conditions will prevail from the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes to Ohio Valley and New England.
Plains, Rockies: A few more showers and thunderstorms will dampen most of these regions, with the greatest threat for severe storms in parts of Nebraska and South Dakota.
West: Mostly clear skies and temperatures in the 60s and 70s will make for a nice day along the West Coast.
Weather history for July 10: In 1913, the world's all-time hottest temperature was set in Death Valley, Calif. In 2005, Hurricane Dennis hit the Florida Panhandle as a Category 3 hurricane.
