Wednesday's forecast: Bitter cold, more snow East

Wintry weather will continue to plague the eastern U.S. while the West enjoys pleasant temperatures and sunny skies.
Eastern, central U.S.: A ferocious cold front will roll toward the East Coast and Southeast on Wednesday. The north-central and Great Lakes states will see high temperatures only in the single digits and teens with howling winds.
Snow showers and snow squalls will spread across the eastern Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Northeast.
West: Almost the entire western third of the country will be sunny and warm on Wednesday, with highs in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Only some morning fog in southern California and some sprinkles along the Pacific Northwest coast will obscure the sunshine.
