Tuesday's forecast: Rainy South, East, cooler north-central

Plenty of rain is forecast to fall across the southern tier and the East as cooler air spills into the north-central U.S.
South, East: Rain and thunderstorms are expected all the way from Texas to the Southeast coast. Some of the storms could reach severe levels in southern Texas. A few storms are also possible in the Northeast.
North-central U.S.: Cooler, less humid weather will move east from the Upper Midwest into the Great Lakes area as highs only reach the 50s and 60s. The cooler air will reach the Eastern Seaboard by Wednesday.
West: A few showers and thunderstorms will pelt the Rockies. Light snow is possible at higher elevations. The Southwest will be dry and hot.
