Friday's forecast: Warm, rainy East, cool West

Friday will feature chilly weather in the West and rainy, mild conditions in the central and eastern U.S.
East: The Eastern Seaboard will see one last day of mild temperatures in the 70s and 80s before cooler weather rolls in for the weekend. Afternoon showers will soak the Northeast and portions of southern Florida.
West: A cool Friday is in store for much of the western U.S. Only the Desert Southwest and southern California will rise into the 70s. Some light snow is likely in the highest peaks of the northern Rockies along while some showers hit the Northwest coast.
Central U.S.: A slow-moving cold front will bring rain and thunderstorms from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes states Friday. The heaviest rain should be in eastern Texas and Arkansas.
