Tuesday's forecast: Snow for Plains, stormy South

A blizzard will wallop portions of the Rockies and Plains Tuesday while parts of the South contend with severe weather.
Rockies, Plains: Heavy snow and high winds will bring blizzard conditions to portions of Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas. A foot is possible in the Denver area. Snow will also fall in New Mexico and Wyoming.
South: Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain will hit the lower Mississippi Valley. The heaviest rain is likely in Arkansas, Louisiana and Missouri, where flooding is possible.
Northwest: Coastal and valley rain and mountain snow will fall in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
