Thursday's forecast: Big storm bears down in the West

Expect rain from Seattle to San Francisco Thursday, while snow falls from the Sierra to Montana.

The nasty weather won't be confined to the West though, as snow is forecast from western Maryland into New England.

It will be dry, but cool for most of the rest of the country.
