Other than the ongoing rain and snow pelting the Northwest, most of the nation should see a calm, mild day on Tuesday.

Northwest: Heavy rain, mountain snow and strong winds will again hammer the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday. Residents of Washington, Oregon and Idaho will all see a stormy, cloudy day. The Southwest will be sunny and mild.

Central, eastern U.S.: Almost the entire eastern two-thirds of the nation will see clear skies and mild, well above-average temperatures on Tuesday. A few showers are possible in southern New England and south Florida.
