Friday's forecast: Snowstorm for Northeast

A morning snowstorm will whiten the Northeast Friday while another storm rolls into the Pacific Northwest.
East: Several inches of snow are forecast for New England and coastal areas of the Mid-Atlantic on Friday, leading to travel headaches. Heavy rain is likely along the coast of the Carolinas.
West: Yet another weather system will roll into the Pacific Northwest on Friday, bringing coastal and valley rain and mountain snow to the Cascades and northern Rockies.
Central U.S.: Light snow is predicted for parts of the upper Mississippi Valley and upper Great Lakes on Friday.
