Winter will hang on in parts of the Midwest and the Rockies Wednesday while springlike warmth continues in the South and West.

Midwest: Heavy snow will paste northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, where up to a foot is possible. A cold rain will dampen the rest of the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. Winds will also howl across the region.

East Coast: Much of the East will be dry and mild on Wednesday though a weak front will bring a few showers by afternoon. Northern New England will stay raw and wet.

West: Other than some snow in the central and northern Rockies, the rest of the West should be clear and dry Wednesday.
