Tuesday's forecast: Wet in South, Midwest

Election Day will see mostly tranquil weather on both East and West Coasts while some rain and thunderstorms soak portions of the South and Midwest, making for a drippy time at the polls.
South-central U.S.: Heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the Deep South on Tuesday, mainly in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi. The heaviest rain should be along Louisiana's Gulf Coast.
Midwest: A cold front will bring showers to the Great Lakes states and Ohio Valley.
West: Other than a few light late-day showers along the Washington coast, the entire western third of the nation will be mild and dry on Tuesday.
East: The East Coast will also see clear skies and mild temperatures, all the way from Maine to Florida.
