Lake effect snow forecast for Great Lakes region: See projected snowfall through Saturday
Forecasters say heavy lake effect snow could hit Friday through Monday east and southeast of the Great Lakes.

A storm that dumped snow in Colorado overnight is forecasted to intensify and head to the Midwest leading up to Thanksgiving Day as lake effect snow is expected to hit the Great Lakes region over the holiday weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, the low-pressure system from Rockies will become a dynamic mid-latitude cyclone. It could eventually bring some snowfall to the Northeast, while the Northern Appalachians could receive four to eight inches by Friday morning, according to the NWS.
In the upper Great Lakes region, snow showers resulting in four to eight inches of snow could hit the northern areas of the Michigan Peninsula.
After turkey day, the NWS says an arctic blast could bring heavy lake effect snow Friday through Monday east and southeast of the Great Lakes, resulting in likely travel disruptions between Cleveland and Buffalo.
