Snow in the South: See photos of people experiencing rare Southern snowfall

Southern U.S. states continue to grapple with highly unusual weather as brutally cold temperatures and blankets of snow continue to impact the region.
Lousiana, which had never before seen a blizzard warning, got up to 10 inches of snow in some areas on Tuesday, while some parts of Alabama saw 9.5 inches, Florida saw up to 8.8 inches, Texas up to 6 and Georgia up to 8.
“This has been the worst winter storm to hit the Gulf Coast in decades," AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jonathan Porter said amid reports that roughly 130,000 homes and businesses were without power Wednesday across Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
Despite the frigid cold and the snowy mess, however, some Southerners decided to get outside to make the most of the ultra-rare occurrence. For some, it was their first real experience with snow, prompting sled rides, snowman building, snow angels and snowball fights even in the lightest of dustings.
