Top reader photos: Nature through a lens
Today's Take 5 is filled with nature: Your Take's top picks are a special collection of photos from contributor Michiale Schneider of Toledo, Ohio.
"Photographs tell stories by trapping a moment in time with a single snap of the camera," Schneider said. Ever since she received her first Polaroid camera in the sixth grade, she has been snapping away.
When taking photographs, Schneider looks for a place or part of nature that tugs at her heartstrings, making an emotional connection with her subject.
Schneider says she is drawn to nature because it is always evolving. "Whether it's the lighting, a new bud on a tree or a different bird on the horizon, there's something new to be discovered."
When taking photos, Schneider reminds herself to stay present and not get too wrapped up in the excitement of a shot.
"I frequently stumble upon old photographs that will instantly bring a smile to my face." Whether a photo of her mother or the flowers in her backyard, Schneider says, "I have so many wonderful memories."
