Your Take Today: USA Today's top reader photo
It's the ordinary things that provide extraordinary photo ops for Paste BN Your Take contributor Benjamin Coy.
"Seeing the same scenery day after day can sometimes be monotonous, but if you look, you'll often find new details. I love the ability to capture and preserve those details and moments in time," he said.
When he finds a great location, he loves looking at the art and beauty around him. Coy shot this beautiful scene, a short drive from his home at Murrells Inlet, S.C.
"I composed this shot several different ways, but was trying to give some distance between the rope in the foreground, the grasses and water in the mid, and dock in the background," Coy said.
"The aperture was open enough to really help the detail of the rope stand out, but yet not blur the dock out too badly."
Coy took this photo with a Canon T4i at 19mm at ISO 640. He edited the color balance and tones in Adobe Lightroom to produce the black-and-white image.
"The fishing and boating community is a huge part of the history and heart of Murrells Inlet, S.C. The photograph is a representation of and dedication to that tradition," he said.
