When Steve Wiggins isn't shooting photos from the sky as a flight attendant, he's on the ground snapping photos of sunsets.

On Oct. 30, Wiggins strolled along the beach in Panama City, Fla., in anticipation of seeing a spectacular show in the sky.

"I remember thinking that this is going to be a great capture of the waves, sun and sand," he says.

For his composition, Wiggins says he balanced the elements in the frame and took the photo on his iPhone 5S, even though he was carrying his Canon DSLR. He used Snapseed to add a filter and saturation.

"I have found that by adding a little bit of a filter you can really bring out sunset contrasts, clouds and waves that normally would be hidden in a photo," Wiggins said.
