Your Take Today: Paste BN's top reader photo
On his first trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park, Your Take contributor Chad Dutson captured this shot after Mother Nature surprised him with two sunrises.
Dutson, a wilderness photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah, took a three-day photo trip in October to Colorado to see the vistas the state had to offer.
On this early morning, Dutson said he and a fellow photographer ran up a trail to catch the pink hues in the sky, but missed them. However, after waiting for a bit, he saw this "perfect" scene and snapped it with his Nikon D800 and Nikkor 14-24 mm lens.
"I felt so much gratitude that I was provided with this second opportunity," Dutson says.
Dutson made his edits in Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop CC to give the photo a cooler tone, adjust the individual colors to a tone of what he saw in real life. He said it's important to "make the scene appear as you felt it."
