Adriana Abarca drove by this spot in Clovis, N.M.– located on State Highway 467 – her entire life.
"Cars, box cars, and abandoned buildings are found through the state in what people consider 'the middle of nowhere,'" she said.
Abarca is drawn to rusted, aged objects for her photography. And when she was granted permission to work on this property for a photo shoot, she said she started trying to find the perfect angle right away.
Sometimes, it's all about finding beauty your surroundings.
"I am fascinated by everything aged because 'time' is something you can't see occurring," said Abarca. "For objects, it occurs on its own with the help of weathering. I believe it is an art not many are aware of."
Her advice?
"Always take a photo you never want to regret not taking. [That's] the best advice I can give as a photographer."
Abarca shot this photo with her iPhone 6+. She sharpened the photo and enhanced its brightness.
