Your Take Today: Paste BN's top reader photo

Since the 1992 Winter Olympics, Your Take contributor and Californian Philip Carnahan and his wife have taken multiple trips to Europe. They especially enjoy capturing the September weather there.

On their adventures through Europe, Carnahan always brings along his Nikon D70, which he used to take the photo of the Monterosso al Mare, but he used his iPhone 5S to edit the image.

To spruce up the photo, Carnahan purchased a ProHDR app for $1.99 and applied the HDR effects on the photo he imported to his iPhone. Using this in combination with the easyHDR3 creates an image with an exposure that is closer to what the eye sees, he says.

"What I remember most about the photo was the brilliant color of the beach umbrellas, the water color and the dark, nasty sky," Carnahan says. "It was a great combination since I live in SoCal where we (have) cloud weather."
