Your Take Today: Paste BN's top reader photo
Contributor James Meyer describes Port Washington, Wis., as: "A slice of Mayberry in a hectic world."
And on the morning of Jan. 5, 2015 — he'd probably say "cold," too.
YOUR TAKE: Find out what Your Take is all about!
Meyers captured this shot at the marina in Port Washington when outdoor temperatures checked in at a chilling minus 6 degrees.
"When it's really cold out," he says, "the warmer lake water creates a rolling fog in the marina. I saw the fog and the clouds over the lake battling the sun, which was trying to break through."
Meyer says he shot this photo with a Nikon D3200 and 18-55mm lens, and edited in Photoshop (to remove some spots on the photo because of dust on his lens) and Lightroom.
Meyer, who lives in Port Washington, speaks highly of its small-town charm and the unique architecture in the downtown area.
"It's a great place to live, and one of the prettiest areas I've been to," he says.
