Your Take Today: Paste BN's top reader photo

While out on a photography adventure, Your Take contributor Matt Trudeau longed to get an amazing long exposure shot.

Trudeau lives in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where he says winter is a great time to go out and explore because a photographer can get photos without a sea of people in them.

With that in mind, Trudeau took his Sonya65 and Tokina 11-16 mm lens along with a tripod down to the beach to photograph the SkyWheel.

How he did it:

Trudeau made sure to use a remote shutter release to take the image because "any movement can ruin the image." He adjusted the image's white balance and cropped out a light pole in Lightroom to help perfect the shot.

"I love long exposure photos because it brings the photo to life," Trudeau said. "It makes me feel like I'm in the photo."
