DC’s cherry blossom trees may not hit peak bloom for the first time in nearly a century

The Cherry Blossom Festival begins one day after a snow storm hit the D.C. area covering blossoms with snow and ice. The peak bloom expected for the blossoms is between March 19 and March 22 but low temperatures may have damaged many blossoms.
