
Heavy rain pummels South Carolina island as Hurricane Ian nears landfall
<p>Hurricane Ian was forecast to make landfall in South Carolina as a Category 1 hurricane on Friday, September 30, bringing a life-threatening storm surge, the National Hurricane Center (<span class="caps">NHC</span>) <a href="https://twitter.com/NHC_Atlantic/status/1575861538274963457?s=20&t=Yc1ABlZ2recI8-I73R-m8w" target="_blank">warned.</a></p><p>Twitter user @crispyicculus said this footage was taken from his home on James Island on Friday.</p><p>Ian had made landfall as a Category 4 storm in southwest Florida before weakening as it headed eastward across the state.
