All The Key Takeaways From The New Jeffery Epstein Documents

Unsealed court documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and sex offender, were recently made public. The 45 documents were unsealed as part of Virginia Giuffre's lawsuit against Epstein. The documents were originally filed as part of a defamation lawsuit brought in 2015 by Giuffre against Epstein's co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell. However, most were deemed largely redundant, as they had already been disclosed in other lawsuits or media reports. The documents did not reveal a list of prominent individuals involved in illicit activities or explain Epstein's rise and connections. However, they did provide additional context to Epstein's relationships with figures like Bill Clinton, Donald J. Trump and Prince Andrew. They included a deposition from Epstein accuser Johanna Sjoberg, who said Prince Andrew placed his hand on her breast while posing for a photo. In the deposition, Sjoberg also said that Epstein told her Bill Clinton "likes them young, referring to girls." In her testimony, she also mentioned former US President Donald Trump, adding that Epstein once suggested they visit Trump’s casino. Many of the famous people linked with Epstein have denied wrongdoing and claimed to be unaware of his sex trafficking. In August 2019, Epstein was found dead at the age of 66 in a Manhattan jail cell while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges. More papers are expected to be unsealed or unredacted in the coming days.
