Alix Earle has broken her silence after screenshots from over a decade ago, which show her using a racial slur, resurfaced online. The ‘Hot Mess with Alix Earle’ podcast host confirmed that the posts were real and apologized for her ignorance in an Instagram story. The 23-year-old wrote, “I am taking accountability and want to make it clear that I was 13 years old.” Earle explained that she used a slur in a post on the question-and-answer website Ask.fm in the summer of 2014. The social media star added, “That is no excuse for using that word in any context or at any age.” The screenshots of Earle’s posts first surfaced two years ago but have recently gained traction again. Earle said she was advised to not address the old posts until now, advice which she has admitted "was wrong."
